It's been awhile and a quick no-nonsense guide to developing Foresight
Hey guys,
I know its been awhile since my last blog post. I've taken a small hiatus from blogging. I've been a little busy but I will be in full effect after my birthday (launching new look, steady schedule, exclusive interviews and other new stuff that will surprise you guys) till then I will post once a week and I will repost some of the past blog postings.
I know people like to read about what's going on
One of a leaders greatest weapon is foresight, remember foresight is not just reserved for people with prophetic gifts or long grey shaolin beards
I know people like to read about what's going on
- Personally things are going well, I'm blessed my spritual walk is strong, my marriage is blossoming, my kids are growing physically and mentally by leaps and bounds and I really feel like I'm discovery my leadership voice and style as well as I feel like I'm begining to really intergrate so many principle I learned and discovered in my journey to fulfill my calling
- The Church is doing well we got some really cool new people that have been coming (website will be updated very soon)
- We are entering our season of growth with some exciting things planned from now to the end of the year
- Our church is part of a new region V.O. NorthEast and our new Regional Pastor (Pastor Joey from VO Bpt) is doing a great job in leading us in going to a new level (I just got back from an Awesome Regional Discipleship and Pastor's Training with Pastor Tom from VO Denver)
- My 9-5 job is cool..I think I'm the only pastor that goes to 'hit the Streets' (evangelism) after working all day near Wall Street.
- I got some awesome friends that I wouldn't trade for the world ....you know you need at least 6 good friends to carry your casket (and due to my greater than average muscle mass index I may need 7
) and I got great friends in all levels of their spiritual journey , from NY to SD and from pastors to people still trying to stop cursing
One of a leaders greatest weapon is foresight, remember foresight is not just reserved for people with prophetic gifts or long grey shaolin beards
here is a no nonsense way to building foresight
- Learn to observe, extract lessons and data from your (or others..that is a smart thing to do) past experience without getting too attached and emotional-which is maximizing the effects of HINDSIGHT
- Learn to look around you and really see what is going on, you see once your goals and vision is really settled in your heart your mind will help you design a map- Maximizing your SIGHT
- Effective leaders know the value of having a vibrant prayer life and how one word from God can change your life and shift you into a new season and also when you have a discipler (mentor) in your life that is a mature follower of Christ and is currently operating in the realm your approaching then you can truly- Maximize your abilty to recieve Godly INSIGHT
- Then as you enter the process of concurrently operating in learned HINDSIGHT, mature and awaken SIGHT, Learning to lean on mentorship and a personal prayer life than you will recive Spritual INSIGHT you can then learn to begin to develop your FORESIGHT, so you can grow from the 'after the fact...reaction leader' to the leader that grows to become a proactive vanguard leader.
- This comes from applied expertise and the desire to gain real life experience, stop watching some one else tell you their vision all day..get it tel a vision
- So when you make plans for the future don't forget to use your foresight and then you will take a big step in making your vision into a reality
