Lessons learned from Mighty Men of Valor Convention

Whats up everybody,
I just got back from
San Antonio Texas
(pretty cool city) where I attended the Victory Outreach Mighty Men of Valor Convention.
The convention was awesome and I want to share with you some of the lessons I learned

The Importance of Passion- Pastor Sonny Arguinzoni sr. (Founder of Victory Outreach Ministries) preached a message warning us about Lukewarmness and reminding us about the importance of simple devotion and passion for our mission (you can see the sermon here
http://www.victoryoutreach.org/media/default.asp)

The Importance of Environment- In this age of online and video church, a person can become lazy and lose motivation to go to any church or conference but when you go to a powerful conference like a Victory Outreach Conference you realize that the undeniable intangible effects of corporate prayer and worship cannot be denied nor duplicated at home by yourself.

Understanding the Importance of Change- Pastor/Elder Rick Alanis spoke about entering a season of Change, Season of Blessing and season of breakthrough, and we must realize more often than not change precedes breakthrough. If you want a change then perhaps you have to change

The Importance of the 'Iron Sharpens Iron' Principle- In this trip I was not only challenged by the messages(and the small airline seats) but also by my peers, hearing my good friend Pastor Al Valdez (www.victoryoutreachsandiego.org) talk about the challenges of breaking the 1,000 attendance barrier (all the while I'm trying to break the 100 barrier) and him giving me some great mentorship advise and correction that was good for me I also had a good time talking to my friend Pastor Tony Velasco from Victory Outreach Hawaii and we were both talking about the challenges and blessing of pioneering a new church, the problem is most leaders like to put up a front and try to compete with everyone when its better to learn and grow from our relationship with fellow leaders.

Ok that's all for now
Be on the look out for a new post soon from my wife Ana is going to write a post about our church Ministering at the Graham ave Fair this past Sunday and how they met Brooklyn Borough president Marty Morkawitz.
Shout out to Pastor Al and Georgina Valdez....thanks for the lunch and River walk trip (even though it cut into my pool time )
Shout out to Pastor Raymond and Pastor Adam...sorry me and Pete had to beat you in spades...I can't help it I get 'books' with 9 of clubs
