Weekly 'Apprentice Show' Recap from a Leaders View-episode 2

Whats up Everyone I just finishing viewing the second episode of the Apprentice Celebrity Edition and it was Pretty Good

Here are some of the highlights and Leadership lessons from the Apprentice show this week...
  • Gene Simmons and Nely Galan both stood up and volunteered to be project managers......The lesson we learned from Gene is to step up  for the challenge while the show is still young and picking up momentum (long running reality shows usually start and end strong ratings wise) and the lesson from Nely is a leader is someone who doesn't just watch the ship go down but volunteer to be the one to steer the ship out of trouble
  • Daniel Baldwin prove to be a 360 degree leader when he convince Gene to not only delegate him as director of the commercial but at the cost of Gene loosening his grip of the process....Good leaders lead people 'under'(their team) them, Motivate and build with people to the 'side' (peers)of them and even people 'over' them (their Leaders)
  • Gene was not afraid to delegate when he picked Daniel Baldwin as the director, Lennox Lewis as the star of the commercial and let country music star Trace Adkins be the voice....Good leaders are secure.
  • Gene did a good job when he took control of the crazy outdoor location(middle of Manhattan..not a good idea) and force everyone back inside....Sometimes a leaders has to pull a 'veto' decision on what appears to be a good idea in favor of a great one or to keep the integrity of the vision of the project.
  • Omorasa said "she is going keep herself from being fired".....Leaders must realize everyone on your team is not completely interested in your success thats why its good at time to appeal to their self-interest within the context of the team's vision and delegate them a job that will keep the busy(but you didn't hear that from me)
  • Gene and Daniel did the right thing the wrong way when they kicked the guys out of the editing room, they forgot these dudes are stars too it would have been better to have communicated to them the need to finish on time and offer them the first opportunity to see the finish produce 1 Hour before they left the next morning....Leaders must remember that a lack of instruction can lead to distraction which can lead to destruction of morale and momentum (Oh Thats a good one ..if I do say so myself)
  • The Women did a good thing with color coordinating their outfits....uniforms show uniformity and helps leave a mark in someone's mind
  • Nadia Comaneci was fired because it was perceive by almost everyone that she is a discipline competitive self-leader but had limited leadership skills....Leader's must remember John Maxwell's number one rule of 21 irrefutable Laws of Leadership number one is the law of the Lid which is the leadership ability determines a persons effectiveness, you see McDonald's was own by the two brothers whose last name was McDonald they has good efficient eatery in San Bernardino California they had drive and discipline system but Ray Kroc brought the restaurant and added awesome leadership abilty to their great dedicated system and well you know the rest of the story.
