Movies and Books Tuesday

Today is Tuesday Aug. 14 2007
So on most Tuesdays I want to make my movies and books reviews and recommendations
Movies:
Bourne Ultimatum (still in theaters) 3 stars - I like the global feel and the theme of absolute power corrupts.
The Island (dvd) 2 stars- Great special effects, cool theme ...but something was missing.
Shooter (dvd) 2.5 stars - Its like a poor man's Bourne Identity, it seems like alot of these movie producers don't like the government too much, I love my country and I know its not perfect but maybe we need a balance to this constant bombardment of the 'contrarian and conspiracy theory' view in movies and media in general.
Note: you can see great movies on dvd w/ netflix ...check out www.netflix.com and join today*
Books
Velvet Elvis By Rob Bell
2.5 stars - eye opener in regards to the rabbinical culture in Jesus time..but the anti establishment the may go a smudge to far
So you want to be like Christ by Chuck Swindoll 3 stars-  great book on spiritual disciplines
Patriot Reign by Michael Holliday 2.5 stars- About the New England Patriots in their last super bowl run (the author had full access to the team)

Tomorrow is the 'word' Wednesday (short bible study)

Blessings
Ed

* I signed up for the netflix affiliate program (I think..not too good in this net stuff yet) and I was told i can get a small commission for everyone who joins thru my blog (good deal for a full time pastor of a small new church)
...Just want to keep it real w/ you guys

What did you think of this article?
