changing the atmosphere in your life

Hey everybody
This morning we had a great Sunday Service at VO North Brooklyn (new families, great weather and good food)
Here is my sunday(7/8/07) sermon in a nutshell
**In life we are surrounded by an atmosphere that it is either conducive or detrimental for our growth as Christians on a journey
**in life you can choose to be a thermometer or thermostat ....thermometer just displays the climate, its kind of like when people just make comments on their surroundings church's, households or workplaces....but God is calling some of us to be thermostats and to be change-agents that positively effect the environments in our life's (this is something Jesus wanted from his disciples)
**Recording artist like J.Lo have whats called 'contract riders' that state the artist want specific things in their dressing rooms and hotel rooms (J.Lo wants everything in white and room temp. avian water for example) before we call artist primadonnas we have to understand that the atmosphere we create helps produce the results we desire...so a happy J.Lo generally means happy fans, happy fans mean happy money for promoters so they look at providing a white sofa as an investment
**this leads me to let you know that our Spirits have 'contract riders' that some of have been ignoring, like prayer, fasting, bible reading and church attendance etc look at thos disciples and practices as an investment because a happy Spirit leads to a happy soul and a happy souls leads to prosperity (the bible say we will prosper as our souls prospers) before we can fix the outside we must first must work on the inside thats why people learn feng shuei but there lives are still a mess.
**Now we can also change our atmosphere by working on our environments and surroundings by bring order and organization (organize or agonize), cleanliness (God can't bless and mess and a mess compounds stress) and sacremenalizing our lives w/ articles of faith (not idols but reminders) like the Mezuzah in Jewish traditions is the article on the door that reminds them of the Greatest commandment (Duet 6) what do you have that reminds of our calling and relationship w/ God. I dare you to create an atmosphere in your life (internally and externally) that motivates, inspires, bring peace and harmony so you can produce the kind of life that moves us from stress to success to significance.
** change the atmosphere in your life and you can change your life

HW
'clutter and mutter'
I want to challenge to undertake a declutter project in your home and work place and to meditate and mutter (repeat to yourself quietly) a biblical promise you are holding on to (ie. 'My God had called me to live a life of abundance' John 10:10) if you need help let me know via comment
and ask God to help you be a thermostat and your church

have a great week

I'm going to start by de-cluttering my office. I know I've got work to do and it just makes sense that an un-clutter office leads to an un-cluttered mind, so to enhance the creative process. So where do I begin. Don't know! Too messy here right now, I'll get back to you. Thanks Pastor.
